Going from Jackson, WY to I-80 was a lonely stretch of highway with few towns. You really have to plan your gas and bathroom stops when driving in this part of the country. I-80 found us leaving green landscapes and back into rock formations and brown scenery similar to Utah and Nevada. The smoke from northern forest fires as far away as Washington State have a cloud hanging over this part of the country.
We arrived in Denver around 5:00 p.m. just as evening rush hour was in full swing. Reminder to self: don’t schedule entering larger metropolitan areas during evening traffic time periods in the future.
